Felt is typically composed of wool or other natural raw materials, which generally produces the highest quality and softest fabric. Our Feltit felt is made from 100% natural wool which we source from New Zealand.

There are two primary methods of felting: wet felting and needle felting.

• Wet Felting: Wet felting involves layering and wetting wool fibres, followed by hand-rolling or using a machine like a rolling pin to agitate and compact the fibres. The application of heat and moisture, along with mechanical pressure, causes the fibres to bond together, resulting in a solid piece of felt.
• Needle Felting: Needle felting is a dry felting method that uses barbed needles to repeatedly pierce and entangle wool fibres. This technique allows for sculpting and shaping wool into three-dimensional forms, making it a popular choice for creating detailed and intricate designs

This material has a huge range of uses with its incredibly unique texture and qualities. Needled felt is very soft making it perfect for crafts. Whereas wool blends are light and breathable but still keep you toasty during the Winter months; making them perfect for knitwear. Pure wool felt is a natural insulator and very resilient to wear and tear. It is strong and able to absorb moisture. This means it can be used for home furnishings as well as decorative items.

Yes, you can wash felt slippers, but it’s essential to do so with care to preserve their shape and quality. Here are some steps to follow when washing your felt slippers:

At Feltit, we offer a combination of standard sizes for many of our products, as well as the option for customization. While you can find various standard sizes that cater to common preferences, we also understand that your needs and preferences may be unique.

If you’re interested in customizing a product or require specific dimensions that differ from the standard sizes, you can contact our design team via email at orders@feltit.co.uk. We will get in touch with you and process the request as needed. This level of personalization ensures that you receive items tailored to your unique style and requirements, making your Feltit products truly one-of-a-kind.

We aim to deliver the ‘Made to Order’ items to your doorstep within 4 weeks of your order confirmation. We work closely with our partner factory in Nepal who have allocated resources for such orders. However, please keep in mind that handmade products may require more time for production than mass-produced items, as they are crafted with care and precision. Additionally, customization requests may add to the production time, as our artisans work to create a product that meets your unique specifications.

If you have specific concerns about the production time for your orders or would like to inquire about the status of your order, please feel free to contact our customer support team. They will be happy to assist you and provide information about the estimated production and delivery times for your specific order.

You can always cancel your orders prior to confirmation. However, you won’t be able to cancel the ‘Made to Order’ items once confirmed and sent through for production. However, we will aim to assist you in any way we could to ensure special requests are communicated and incorporated.

You won’t need to pay during our customisation stage. However, we will require you to deposit 50% of the order value for us to confirm and proceed to the production. As Nepalese government does not allow the products to be exported without showing proof of full payment, remaining 50% will need to be paid after the item(s) have been manufactured (proof will be provided via photograph).
